I live in the Bronx and I estimate I smell it about 75% of the time I leave my house.

To be fair, I have seen a Snowy Owl in a tree more than once.

Have you considered that traffic might just grind to a complete halt as drivers zoned out on their phones have no way to be notified that the light turned green 10 seconds ago?

Jeff Tweedy from Wilco. IIRC the extended noise section at the end of Less Than You Think is his attempt to sonically recreate a migraine.

NYC Bird Alliance has a program called Project Safe Flight where they count dead birds on the sidewalk during migration. Their estimate is that 230,000 birds are killed each year by windows in NYC. I believe 1 WTC is the biggest culprit.

I go birdwatching a few times a week and almost never see dead birds. I saw three dead geese last weekend. The consensus in the birding community is bird flu.

There are usually a few overwintering Golden-crowned Kinglets in my area, but I haven’t seen any yet this year. I’m hoping to see a migrant within the next few weeks.

My wife and I looked at houses that had separate mosquito control district and library district taxes. The house next door was in the same town, but in a different district and therefore had a different tax rate!

My entire neighborhood is covered in black ice. My son almost fell at a crosswalk. We watched his friend eat it just outside the school. My brother said he saw someone being loaded into an ambulance on the way to the train.

I only get a bad tap on a bus about 10% of the time, but if I get two bad taps in a row, the driver just waves me on to avoid delaying boarding.

I think we should name Penn Station after Trump partially because it’s important, but mostly because it would be hilarious.
