Investigators say the Wagners did it to ensure they got custody of Jake’s daughter with Hanna Rhoden.
2-The dynamics have shifted dramatically. Pike County has a pop of ~27,000.
They’ve already seated one jury (George’s attorneys are arguing for a new trial though) and it got international media attention, much like the case.
Clearly Judge Hein agreed that jury pool wasn’t good anymore.
Re: change of venue - this has been a fight from the jump. George’s attorneys tried to + Billy’s argued at least once before and lost.
The differences now?
1-Presiding Judge Hein wasn’t around for George’s case (Rob Junk is the judge now, he used to be prosecutor - had to recuse himself).
These are three major decisions today - and prosecutors can’t be thrilled with them.
In fact, these three issues caused some fireworks at a hearing last week.

MORE #BREAKING: Angela Wagner and her son Jake are now both scheduled for sentencing on December 17 - she’s scheduled first.
Both took plea deals in 2021 - agreeing to testify against their family members if death penalty was taken off the table. #pikecountymassacre
SCOOP: Presiding judge rules George “Billy” Wagner III’s trial in the #PikeCountyMassacre case won’t be held in Pike County.
He grants Wagner’s defense team’s motion to change venue. Where to? Your guess is as good as mine.
