A quick selfie I took on my way down Commercial Street in Ptown after a party at one of the bars. I’m wearing a black leather English-style leather harness (the English harness has a strap that goes around the chest underneath the pecs, with a short strap and buckle in the center that connects it to two straps that go over the shoulders, connecting the same way to the chest strap in the back). My skin is tanned/slightly red from the sun, and my entire stomach, chest, and both shoulders are covered with fur. I’m holding my phone with my left arm, which is raised to take the photo, revealing the thick patch of hair in my pit.

Politics is how we shape the societies we live in, and I dunno about you, but I feel a strong need to have a voice in the shaping of mine.

I’m also more acutely aware than ever before of how badly our BIPOC, immigrant, and trans friends need support and care right now. If having times and places like this means something to you, please fight to protect them for all of us who don’t fit in the spaces our society provides for us.

It’s my last night in Ptown for Bear Week, and more than usual this year I’m so grateful to have a place and a time where I can be so comfortable and feel so good about just being myself.
