The loss of Reverend Jesse Jackson is one that is deeply felt. A true American patriot who fought tirelessly for our fundamental values — justice and equality for all. He was an unstoppable force and will be gravely missed.

While families are struggling to afford groceries, housing, and health care, Trump is bankrolling more cages. That’s not public safety, that’s government overreach and fiscal insanity. Maryland does not need another ICE detention center, nor do I support them anywhere else across our country.

$38.3 billion.

That’s what ICE is pouring into detention facilities to expand a system riddled with abuse allegations, inhumane conditions, and zero accountability.

I submitted testimony (you should too) to the Maryland General Assembly, urging passage of HB 1017 and HB 1018: bills that would give Maryland more oversight of ICE. The hard truth is, without US Rep. McClain Delaney’s support of the Laken Riley Act, we wouldn’t be here.

Our immigrant communities need protecting. Thankfully, we have people in our State House standing against this inhumane crisis.

McClain Delaney is hoping we all forget she was the ONLY MD Dem to vote with Trump for the Laken Riley Act, stripping our immigrant friends, family, and neighbors of their rights, creating this inhumane crisis.

I’m horrified by the reports of a shooting at Wootton High School. My thoughts are with the students, educators, and families affected. Grateful to first responders on the scene and praying everyone stays safe as we await more information.

As someone who built a business from the ground up, I know that your team members are your most important asset. And the folks at @washingtonpost.com are some of the finest. This is shameful, and every single American ought to be furious.

Team Trone proudly joined the people of Washington County in the streets yesterday, letting the County Commissioners know that ICE is not welcome here! We don’t want Trump's rogue agency terrorizing our neighbors, and we will continue to fight back.

Let me say this as plainly as possible. Kristi Noem must go. The administration should do the right thing and fire her immediately for her gross incompetence. And while they’re at it, send Stephen Miller with her.

Then, we must send CBP back to the border where it's supposed to be, rather than being used as Trump’s personal secret police force throughout the country. Finally, we must prevent the Insurrection Act from being invoked without Congressional approval.

ICE is not welcome in Washington County. ICE is not welcome in Maryland. We need to rein in ICE before more people get hurt. It starts with firing Kristi Noem and Greg Bovino.

Continuing to keep the victims' stories and memories alive means we must never forget the atrocities that took place during the Holocaust – and we must learn from them. When we say "never again," it means we must know the signs and speak up in the face of injustice before it is too late.

On this day of remembrance, we recognize the 6 million Jewish victims and the millions of others targeted by Nazi persecution.

When bullies try to push people around, you don’t back down. You stand up to them.

I’m running to fight for working families and take on the powerful interests in Washington who profit while everyone else pays the price.

Reject all funding for ICE, put in place reform that ensures this never happens again, and immediately pass a measure requiring Congressional approval to invoke the Insurrection Act. We've had enough words. We need more action.
