The movie is the live action Lilo and Stitch, which she has constantly tried to sell to me how "good" of a movie it is, having made both her and my sister cry.

Even though it completely betrays EVERYTHING that made the original movie what it was.

Nothing like being incredibly exhausted from work, feeling incredibly frustrated between events last night and during work today, and just not being in a good headspace...

...and your mother decides to force you to watch a movie you have repeatedly refused wanting to watch, because her birthday.

This frame here is actually what made me recognize the art style most, pfftpfft.

Having watched plenty of Wolf Children and Summer Wars that both have similar scenes with a "forward facing shocked expression," it was very much recognizable.
