I'd missed this: Democratic-endorsed candidates *swept* the 6 school board races in Mecklenburg County, one of North Carolina's largest counties (home to Charlotte).

This means there won't be a Republican on the board anymore; the sole GOP incumbent was ousted.

i am allowed some delusion tonight, so i will say this: if Mamdani was a natural born citizen, he'd be the far-and-away leading candidate for the Democratic nomination for President in 2028

“We won because we insisted that politics is no longer something that is done to us. Now it is something we do.”

Every single word of this Mamdani speech is fucking fire.

The later ballots are always more left-leaning. Wilson will still probably win.

Solidarity to all those participating in a No Kings protest tomorrow!

I wish I could make it, but my grandmother’s recent passing will prevent me from doing so.

I really wish I could participate, but I can’t with a recent loss in the family. But I’m sending solidarity to those who are!

“endangering more vulnerable Dems with their toxicity.”

Why is it always somebody else’s fault? When do we start blaming those vulnerable Dems for losing winnable races themselves?

Well, given her opponent is an unapologetic genocide supporter, I think I know who the lesser evil is.

Of course, but it is the most high-profile and wide-ranging one.

You do understand that I’m talking about Congress and the presidency, right?

That’s cool. They still have complete control of government.

The right overlooks character flaws, and that's how they win. Maybe it's time for the left to do the same.

All the momentum is on the side of progressives now, plus Bell mainly won thanks to huge spending from AIPAC, which is absolutely toxic now, much more so than it was even a year ago.

As a young Harris voter, I definitely would put marriage and children higher on my list, but it’s definitely not my main priority. I’ve still got a lot of stuff to work on before that.

Goes both ways. This Harris-voting man is glad that his girlfriend is not a Trump-voting woman.

But yeah, I get the point.

⚡️Iowa Dems just broke the GOP senate supermajority by flipping a Republican seat on a special election in a district Trump won by 11 points in 2024.

(This is why Trump is stealing seats)

TEXAS HOUSE DEMS: WHAT HAPPENS NEXT IS UP TO ABBOTT
Texas House Democrats are ready to deliver on flood relief,
but Abbott must prioritize the needs of Texans

CHICAGO — After Speaker Dustin Burrows, Lt. Gov Dan Patrick, and Gov. Greg Abbott announced that they will capitulate to Democratic demands to end their corrupt special session on Friday, but promised to call another, Texas House Democratic Caucus Chair Rep. Gene Wu issued the following statement:

“What happens next is entirely up to Greg Abbott. After deliberation among our caucus, we have reached a consensus: Texas House Democrats refuse to give him a quorum to pass his racist maps that silence more than 2 million Black and Latino Texans — in keeping with our original promise to Texans, the First Called Special Session will never make quorum again, defeating Abbott’s first attempt at passing his racial gerrymander.

Votes are not done, and more than half the Senate Democratic caucus has voted to block weapons sales to Israel.

Such an idea was nearly unimaginable before.

The politics of Israel-Palestine are changing in the US.

Cory Booker (D-NJ) voted against Bernie’s resolution to block sales of assault rifles to Israel.

This year, Israeli soldiers killed a 14-year-old from New Jersey.
