An elderly lady was walking towards her car in a parking lot seemingly uninterested in my approaching sign. But as I passed by, she was stood by the open car door, looked at me, and started honking. :-)

Though hopefully also increased societal frustration with the Administration’s needlessly harmful, aggressive, and corrupt policies and approach to everything. The best honk, by the way, was the first one.

MoCo Honk Report (Wed AM): 19 mins, 268 honks, 3 VHCs. This is the most honks I’ve ever gotten during a morning. I think it’s the new and improved sign.

Plus my back doesn’t hurt afterwards. :-) (FYI, the new sign still says the same thing: “Honk to Fight Trump!”) Happy MLK Day!

In addition to being able to lift the sign higher bc it’s cardboard instead of the large dry erase board I’ve been using, the lettering is brighter and more inviting, and it’s double-sided, all of which made a big impact in visibility and response today.

Special props to my neighbor for her vociferous honking when she passed me. Not bad for a cold and windy day that froze my fingers through my gloves. :-)

MoCo Honk Report (Thursday AM): 17 mins, 157 honks, 1 middle finger (from the same guy in the brown Buick), and one pedestrian in a Snap-On Tools jacket and an American flag arm patch who said, “You’re a good man.”

MoCo Honk Report (Wed AM): 17 mins, 250 honks, 3 VHCs, including 2 LLOs (loud long ones) from a Home Depot truck, plus a fist bump of encouragement from a pedestrian.

But then it turned out he was just curious, said he’s seen me out here a lot, and is glad to know that I have a job. :-)

So then the wave was converted to a dual-purpose honk. I was also chatted up by a pedestrian who asked me if I’m retired. That hurt a bit, realizing that I look old enough that someone could think I'm retired.

MoCo Honk Report (Mon am): 19 mins, 135 honks, 1 VHC. One of the honks came when someone first waved to me (bc some people feel uncomfortable honking.) But then the light changed and the person in front of them was looking at their phone for longer than is appropriate.
