The whole point of this story is that these kids parents lived out of a microwave, and they never learned how to cook. They think cooking takes hours and makes fancy elaborate meals that are all pretty and pointless. They don't know how to cook, so they don't learn.

Nah, this is just another example of "no one taught these kids to cook, they think cooking is something chefs do and it takes hours". Their parents only know how to live out of a microwave, so they never learned how to cook fast efficient meals at home.

I have hated that promotion of stupidity & ugliness for decades, and I am certainly celebrating that it is gone Heard about it on ABC radio. Brilliant they are apparently over, never thought it would finally happen.

That said, Coles & Woollies, at least in country towns, do have suggestion boxes. Dad tried one once, & now they sell full sized cartons of sour cream at his local coles, which is nice. So apparently they cater a little, at least in NSW?

No idea about the U.S. though.

So do I. I tend to reply in such a way as "Queensland, or the NT, maybe, northern states are hotter, though, so..." and they either go silent, or block me, or argue that those aren't states, depending.
