De inauguratie van de Unesco leerstoel voor doctor Mirjam Shatanawi met een mooie en politieke rede over teruggave van koloniaal roofgoed, de impact en kwetsbaarheid.

En daarnaast de uitreiking van de eerste #Reinwardt Awards.

This Thursday is the inauguration of our @reinwardtacademy.bsky.social UNESCO Chair on Museum Collections, Repatriation and Interculturality. Today the team visited @unesconl.bsky.social to get acquainted. We found our Chair Mirjam Shatanawi already added to the flyer. 😊

Had a great afternoon discussing museum practice with young professionals from across the globe in World Café format, tackling topics such as legal issues in restitution, contested narratives, politics and advocacy within and outside the museum.

Zittend in de oude woonkamer die nu tentoonstellingsruimte is en vol hangt met lokale kunst, luisteren de studenten geboeid naar het verhaal van onze gastvrouw / storyteller van Verhalen huis Belvedere.

Ik mocht woensdag met onze masterstudenten Fenix en Verhalenhuis Belvedere bezoeken in 010. Ze liggen schuin tegenover elkaar en gaan allebei over migratie en belonging, maar het contrast kan nauwelijks groter zijn.

Waar gaat u goed op?

Mooie dag gisteren weer met de #Reinwardt Academie.

Rondje Rotterdam: museum Fenix , Verhalenhuis Belvédère en het depot van Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.

Mooi om de verhalen achter de verhalen te zien, het museum achter het museum.

Veel inspiratie opgedaan!

Dat is ook een mooie opleiding en het is nooit te laat voor onze multidisciplinaire master, natuurlijk. 😎

At one time there was an idea for a summer school: Heritage and the arts as allies for social justice in contested spaces.

Then it came to fruition.

Being a heritage school in a university of the arts does have advantages. 😊
