I loathe hand sewing, no matter how small the task! The end product will be worth it! The older I get the more I realized the snap, crackle, and pop noises are just warning for the family to steer clear :-)

I have found something that makes me cuss a little less with invisible zippers. It is a double sided tape.

I do this all the time. I find it 100% worth it!

Still tweaking the dress but this is what I have so far. butterick 6094. I am making an overskirt attached to a belt. I still have to finish fitting it, hand sew lining and hem. Wish me luck! #garmentsewing

Every day there is new nightmare fuel. Where are the checks and the balances? Why is this a new constant. Fucking over this shit.

I also hate zippers, I use zipper tape and then sew it in. I get it at the fabric store.

I suggest you take it for a “tune up” to your local sewing machine repair place. It could be something as simple as the bobbin casing needs a little sand and polish.

What is the make and model of your machine?

Thread and needle might not be correct for your fabric, definitely a tension issue. Take that baby to a service tech for sewing machines. I bet they will get it straight in no time.

It took me years to accept that the seam ripper was my best tool. Breathe and keep at it! You got this!

When I up graded to this machine, with years of sewing under my hat, it took me a good 6 months just to thread the machine. Now I make at least 1 dress a year. You got this!!! Start simple, play with the different stitches and assorted sewing feet. And ask someone will always step up to help!
