I didn’t realize I’d read so much this month till I checked my #Storygraph stats today… I’m kinda impressed! πŸ˜…
Anybody else completely mesmerized by #Slewfoot by #Brom ? I can definitely see myself reading it again next spooky season. πŸŽƒ

It was good! I think it would w been perfect for me as a young adult/teen. The audiobook is also so well produced, really made the experience!

Thanks for this! I agree, it’s a reminder that even when I’m down, I find solace in the stories others weave. And I love that for myself :)

It’s definitely a learning experience… cause I was certainly feeling down but as it turned out, I still went back to my books when I needed them.

#TomLake was an easy read but I’m grateful for that because I couldn’t put it down. I needed to know how it all ended, & boy was it worth it. It felt so real & brought up some raw emotions I didn’t expect. It’s entirely worth the journey, & I could easily see it become a series/movie someday.

Just when you think you’ve fallen behind… #Storygraph reminds you you’re still making progress. It was a hard month for me & I didn’t read for a good chunk of it. But somehow I still managed to finish 2 books & maintain my pages read! #SeptemberRecap #BookSky #ReaderSky

If we’re going to have Chinese style autocracy in the US, I’d also like the renewable energy infrastructure, high speed rail, electric vehicles, investment in science, and good food.

REPORTER: Mr. President, my condolences to you, Sir. My condolences on the loss of your friend Charlie Kirk. [unintelligible]
How are you holding up over the last day and a half, Sir?
TRUMP: I think very good. And by the way, right there, you see all the trucks? They've just started construction of the new ballroom for the White House, which is something they ve been trying to get, as you know, for about 150 years. And it's gonna be a beauty. Absolutely magnificent construction. We just started, so it'll get done very nicely.
And it will be one of the best anywhere in the world, actually.

when society asks me to have sympathy & decorum for people like charlie kirk, i think of the lists read out on trans day of remembrance

part of the life's work of people like kirk is both to make those lists longer & to pack as much suffering as possible into those of us still living

It’s all an attitude of being fine with authoritarianism, just not in their preferred cities. High crime rates in Republican-led states isn’t a gotcha! It’s a tragedy and a canary in a coal mine about what systemic racism and poverty beget. Do better, y’all. Not one city should be occupied.

There's a program to relocate historical houses that are going to be demolished to Altadena. But we need to know where those houses are!

Disasters don’t hurt everyone equally, and the ever present impacts of redlining are a significant contributor to climate/weather vulnerability.

The President of the United States is threatening to go to war with an American city.

This is not a joke. This is not normal.

Donald Trump isn't a strongman, he's a scared man. Illinois won’t be intimidated by a wannabe dictator.
