Interesting that Stephen Price who has said he wont watch the film as "he'll be washing his hair", somehow manages to get hold of a letter written by one, yes one resident and then cut and pastes it into an article for publishing on Nation.
What future insight can we await from Mr Price....
Agree. Was noticeable too as part of the 20mph debate, and things like 15 minute cities where people saw driving as a an absolute freedom. Well driving at any time, at any speed they deemed appropriate, and wobetide anything that stopped that.

What concerns trump the safety of pedestrians and other vulnerable highway users?
Many arguments i saw against 20mph were from people who thought their car journey would be delayed. By seconds.
Either way, i think concerns are listened to. And answered. People may not like the answers mind...
What legitimate concerns are there that trump the safety of pedestrians and other vulnerable highway users?
Many of the arguments i saw against 20mph were from people who thought their car journey would be delayed. By seconds.
Causing of Driver frustration and road rage another?
Yes i do, and relying on a screen in your car is, in my view no guarantee. Especially as we still leave it up to drivers as what type of car they drive and if they can make sense of any of the "aids" their vehicle has.
18.02.2025 09:17 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Were the fines before 20mph was introduced also unnecessary Chicago tafia? No they're not, and never will be...and if you can afford to drive a vehicle you can also afford to pay the costs, and penalties of not obeying the laws.

18.02.2025 08:57 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0You may not have, but in some of the safe routes in communities schemes I did have people did argue against speed lowering infrastructure in the vicinity of schools. Some of them were parents of the children they were driving to that school....

17.02.2025 21:58 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0In 2010s, I implemented several safe routes in communities schemes, where often local community would request lower speeds. Back then, if data didn't show any collisions, we'd not progress lowering limits. Didn't use the phrase overreach, in dealing with community anger at those decisions

Thanks for the foresightendess.
Still waiting on the answer to the question posed to you earlier? What KSI figure for Wales road would be acceptable to you? You do have courage in your argument to put a figure to support your opinion.
And keeping them on that downward trend, which is what 20mph can also do is something we should also aspire to.
and why you keep on rabbiting the line about vehicles with advanced safety features - that benefits more those inside the vehicle, than outside.
There will be a range of issues why one party may win more votes, and it will be hard to pin it to 20mph partially and certainly entirely as you originally intimated.

So a policy that has immediately lead to lower killed and seriously injured on Wales's roads is "unnecessary stuff?"
That's a fair conclusion to make from your view?
i'm not your dude. But irrespective, you still are unable to give an answer to the question. What number of KSIs in Wales would be acceptable to you?
Simple question i think?
I think other things will cost votes more than the 20mph to 30mph furor.
17.02.2025 21:13 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0How do you get from wanting a reversion to 30mph to a US style healthcare system?
17.02.2025 21:11 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Yes, you are "someone in Chicago". And you also seem unable to give a number on the number of KSIs in Wales, that is acceptable or would be acceptable to you, or for your pretty left wing family that still lives in Wales.
17.02.2025 21:09 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Where pray tell are these places which are facing backlashes? And cars having many safety features is something we've been sold by the automobile industry and only benefits really the people inside the car. Not those outside the car!
