A heron flaps it wings as it cruises low over still waters. Water plants and grasses form a green background reflecting off the water's surface with one white water lily adding a small accent.

Ha ha, l suppose. Iβve never thought that seeing them in βpersonβ. In this shot it is kind of crouching and stretching to get under the bark.
26.10.2025 12:10 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A Brown Creeper is a small, fast moving, bird who constantly searches for bugs in tree bark. It has perfect camo with a mottled brown and white back. Notable are its curved down, thin beak and feet, large for the birds size but well suited to grabbing bark.

A wet mink takes a leap over water from one rock to another. It's rear feet are planted firmly as it pushes off into the air.
Close but not quite. A mink lands on a rock but one front foot missed its mark and the mink's head hits the ground while its rear end is still going, "ass over teakettle".
Sometimes you nail it, sometimes you don't.

As the tide goes out the Bay of Fundy leaves behind large mudflats. Here a heron flies over a large rock outcropping in the bottom of the dried up ocean. The heron has mud caked on its feet.

A normally all black bird this crow has no pigment in some of its wing feathers. In this example the symmetry of the missing pigment is so perfect it looks like this is the way a crow should be coloured.

A Blue Jay perches on a branch. Its crest is down which indicates it's feeling relaxed and its throat is bulging. Blue Jays have a throat pouch which can stretch, similar to a chipmunk's cheeks.
