We're looking at the underside of the tips of the lower jaw. Interestingly the one on the left has a deep midline cleft, likely due to a congenital defect. Didn't slow this Trike down though, as it lived a long life growing large. 🧪🦕

Not everyone in the Jurassic Period was a giant.

This tiny jaw of teeth was collected from the Mygatt-Moore dinosaur bonebed. It belonged to no dino, but instead to a small, lizard-like animal called a rhynchocephalian. Today, this group is represented by the Tuataras of New Zealand.

It was found by a friend looking fossils in the Late Cretaceous (Santonian) Smokey Hill Chalk in Kansas. You think you afraid of the ocean now? You've seen nothing!
