The way those grey eyes snap right to her oh, she’s so, so lucky. “Are you hungry?” Vi nods, grinning. “What’d you have in mind?”

— The restaurant is every bit the same as she remembers it to be, a little too crowded, a little too loud. The lady who seats everyone is the one who’s seen Caitlyn grow from a knee-high tot to well, whatever she is now. Her smile is the same too though her eyes soften briefly as they skate over her single companion. “The same table?” Caitlyn nods, throat tighter than she thought it’d be. It’s been a year. That should be long enough, shouldn’t it?
