The soil I had left over, so not really for this, is orchid soil. Which just means it had wood chips to get more air in it to prevent rot. I think onions will grow in anything, but mine aren't thriving for very long so I'm sure there are improvements to be made. I also forget them. 😬

Great excuse for a cute new notebook ✨ The trouble I was having with green onions was mold. I tried in water and the roots would rot in a week. Started going straight into dirt and lightly spraying the base/dirt once a week with peroxide water (1:2 part) mix and doing less waterings.

I totally understand. I never made it far past the collecting info stage lol. I think it might be worth just starting something and going from there. Each plant has it's own needs. I learned how to keep green onions for double what they started so that's something! Gonna try herbs next.
