Good young players in MLS will always have 1 foot out the door, especially at a low ambition team like #RBNY has been the past 7 years.

This is the best case scenario signing young players: that they leave before you can build a winning team around them bc they're too good for a mid-table MLS team. The only reason a 21 yo sticks around at #RBNY for 5-6 yrs is that he's only just ok.

Good to hear. That's the main thing, that US Soccer has to acknowledge that the PLS was designed for a fixed league and that it has to be adjusted for fundamental differences w/ pro/rel. Or maybe keep it as is for fixed leagues and have a separate D1 standard for pro/rel leagues.

"Will there be allowances?" is the open question. The original D1 teams still temporary. Imagine a team upgrades to 15k for the standard then gets relegated year 1. They've wasted million$.

Of the current USL-C teams only 4 are currently in 15k stadiums (based on Wikipedia). 7 are bigger than Luton Town's 11,379. All but Charleston Battery meet the Premier League's standard of 5,000.

That's needed for a 1-tier league like MLS where bad teams linger. W/ prorel if a D2 team goes up to D1 and can't cut it, they're back to D2. Requiring a D2 team to build a D1 stadium while in D2 "just in case" is a great way to kill a D2 team. Standards have to accommodate the fluidity.

Sure, have a minimum. I just don't understand why the minimum here is 3x the Premier League's minimum of 5,000. 15k is fine for MLS, but with promotion, it's really saying that every D2 team has to have a 15k seat stadium or else they shouldn't bother winning.
