So I updated them with some white question marks in the blackest part of the tile, and now they REALLY stand out.

Meanwhile, a taer is a *Medium* *giant*, with near-human Intelligence and the cold subtype, CR 1, and yet their attack routine is basically left-arm right-arm bite.
And a regular ape (an aggressive gorilla ) is a Large animal, CR 2.

Dire apes are two-armed giant apes, size Large, 5d8 Hit Dice, 35 hit points, CR 3, claw x2 1d6+6 bite 1d8+3, rend 2d6+12, avg dmg 45.5
Girallons are four-armed giant apes, size Large, 7d10 Hit Dice, 58 hp, CR 6, claw x4 1d4+6 bite 1d8+3, rend 2d4+12, avg dmg 64.5.
D&D dire ape prepainted mini, which I've repainted in shades of grey and white instead of its original brown. It is standing upright, beating its chest, and has a red mouth and red eyes.
Six girallon miniatures in the back row, they're four-armed giant apes with white/grey fur. Ten taer apes in the middle, large burly apes with white/grey fur. Front row is the dire ape I repainted as white/grey, which towers over the taers but is about the same size as the girallons.
I repainted this (prepainted) dire ape miniature from shades of brown (???) to shades of white and grey because I wanted it to match my (prepainted) taer and girallon miniatures, which were already shades of white and grey. Plus, white/grey shows up a lot better on the tabletop than brown/brown.

two Dwarven Forge two-inch dungeon floor tiles, one with a tan stripe and one with a black stripe, and the words KEEP OUT painted on the stripes. Plus some sloppy paint on one side suggesting that whoever painted them did so sloppily and then tracked some paint in the direction they walked away.
The PCs in yesterday's Ptolus game found two side tunnels, each with a stripe of paint on the floor (one tan, one black) and writing on it saying "KEEP OUT." So I painted up a couple of #DwarvenForge floor tiles with these messages, as I'm sure I'll need them againβ¦
