The UK govt spent decades actively using child sex abusers & covering up to protect politicians, while shaming victims. They framed a man and sent him to jail for manslaughter for trying to expose it.

Years ago, I decided to start saying having a good day to cashiers etc even though I had previously thought it was an insincere thing Americans did. I saw people’s faces change and light up as someone was acknowledging them and their life beyond serving people at a till. Forgive me, Yanks.

I get that it’s clickbait but it’s a wretched thing to say when these workers have to deal with all sorts of rude bastards daily.

Writers can learn from every kind of writing. You need to read the genres you work in, but if you don't read outside them you're missing out on the chance to learn so much.

If you actually watched this season, instead of raging, I want you to go out and buy a book by an author you love-- I don't care who it is. The point is to support REAL WRITING, REAL STORIES, made by actual people.

I never again want to hear anything about this show, or any programme that willingly steals from other people to write things.
