The ending was a let down, but there was a nice twist that took away some of the sting. Overall, I'm not big on Biblical angels and demons stories, so it says a lot how much this novel kept me engaged. 3.5/5

If you really hold space in your heart for veterans on Veteran's Day, then you need to hold that same space for veterans on Election Day too.

That's a nerve wracking thing being at this stage of my transition. Before when I was tempted to throw out the 'um, actually' it just made me look Autistic, which, good look telling when something doesn't. But now, I look like I'm mansplaining. I'd rather step on Legos than mansplain. Seriously.

It's okay! I still got enough to function versus the three to four hours a night for weeks on end I was doing a few years ago. :)

I'm proud of how my cooking has developed in the last couple of years. Always loved baking, but cooking was 'meh.' One day, it just clicked how creative cooking can be, and that was it. Now I love to cook too!

And, as a writer, I find non-writing creativity puts out a welcome mat for the words.

It's very atmospheric. The horror elements are developing slowly admit the real life horrors of the plague. It reminds me stylistically of 'VVitch.'

I'm about to pick up a manuscript I dropped for awhile. I paused because it felt like the story was losing its way. So off to reread it from the start, try to refuse the urge to edit before the rough draft is even done, and hopefully put this one to bed.
