Another Bug Hunt is awesome, but I really love Dead Planet. Partly nostalgia and partly the fact that as an intro module it teaches a slightly different way to play: by trapping you in terrifying little sandbox.

Have you checked out HEXROLL? It generates the region with populated towns, taverns, factions, and fully keyed dungeons. I’ve often thought of using for a solo or a random pickup game.

Scheduling is the monster that will never die. I really enjoyed running Moonbase Blues. The longer adventures are excellent too, and can be broken down into one shots. Dead Planet doesn’t get talked about as much anymore but the Screaming on the Alexis portion is a perfect night of gaming.

Oh hell yeah.

Bare Bones Mork Borg – Stop Complaining it’s Hard to Read or Expensive Cheap and easy to read, all Mork Borg complaints answered. I still think you should buy the real thing though. Its glorious.

It’s been available for years but I don’t think enough people give this edition credit as a very accessible version of the game. If you print on lulu you have great inexpensive copies for your table or to give away to get people excited. Don’t sell them, that would be a —— move.

Twilight: 2000 (4e) Campaign Update I have been very remiss in any sort of play report for my campaign using Free League’s 4th edition of *Twilight:2000*. I attempt to catch up a bit.

Play report with prep notes and whatnots for the first 3 or 4 sessions of my current Twilight:2000 campaign. Just wrapped session 7 last week. Great sandbox game with excellent referee support.

Really great article. I tend to like the darker themes in my games as something for the players to resist or overcome, not wallow in. I’m running a T2K campaign that is very bleak, but the PCs have decided now to help *these* people. There is now purpose, hope, and clear direction for the future.

I’d argue procedures are rules. Maybe the separation is actually mechanics (or mechanisms) and procedures. A mechanic is a rule that resolves something (answers the question if it happened or succeeded) and procedures are rules for the order in which those mechanics are applied. Like a syntax.
