I’m voting straight ticket Democrat mainly because the Republican Party tried to steal the Presidential election in 2020.
That’s never going to change. I will never vote for a Republican in my life. But making good on these threats and anger would make my heart swell with American Pride again.

I really do feel fervor behind these words. I get right now these hearing are just kind of propaganda pieces for the Democrats, but my god if they make good on this anger and these threats I might actually develop a real lasting faith in them.

What this era of American politics has shown me is that it is impossible to have populism without accepting a hefty amount of antisemitism as a consequence.

Provided we’re able to do it in a way that can’t be repealed via a simple majority of the House/Senate and agreement from the President we might be able to start to claw our way back from this.

It might sound a little weird, but it’s become *cringe* in wider American culture to be a Trump supporter. It’s no longer considered intriguing and counter-cultural. That’s what my tepid weathervane is.

There’s a lot of anger at Trump in America that can be harnessed already. I’m looking forward to his popularity cratering even more when he ends up trying to veto *everything* passed by a Democratic Congress.
He is actually in free-fall. In both the cultural/political spheres.

It would be really huge if the Democratic Party (after obtaining a strong trifecta) finally made the United States subject to the jurisdiction of the ICC.
I feel like that *one* move would go a long way toward restoring the country’s diplomatic prestige.

U.S. sub sinks Iranian warship off Sri Lanka, killing 87 and expanding war zone
A U.S. submarine sank an Iranian warship off the southern coast of Sri Lanka, killing dozens of sailors and dramatically widening Washington's pursuit of the Iranian navy.
A US submarine sinking a lonely, dinky Iranian surface ship an ocean away from the theater of the main conflict—and 9000
miles from North America—makes it pretty clear the US is fighting a general war, without the declaration required by the Constitution. www.reuters.com/world/asia-p...

Don’t worry about all that, we’re going to get a sweet “bombing Iran” montage with Back In Black playing in the background out of it.

They’re concerned that the consequences of this mistake will be so dire that they will lose all narrative shaping power.
They don’t really care about US troops dying or Iran’s repression of its people. They care that they’re not going to be able to cover their asses about how bad they fucked up.

This Administration’s only goal is making Fascist meme content to create news cycles that says Trump is strong & badass.
In their infinite hubris, they thought the Iran strike would be a quick 24-hour “Trump is badass” news cycle. They literally meme’d themselves into a protracted regional war.

Just a quick reminder that Trump’s official position on why he hasn’t delivered on his promise to end the Russia-Ukrainian war in 24 hours is because “he was being sarcastic.”
I need you to know that is the Administration’s official position on that.

This accurately describes the behavior of both the Putin and Trump Presidencies.
They have such a comradeship because they both believe in the same horseshit conspiracies about George Soros and USAID.

It’s totally reasonable to believe “The Republican Party attempted to steal the 2020 election so therefore I am immediately suspect of anybody who still supports them.”
It’s like…either they don’t know about it, they’re so stupid they shouldn’t be allowed to drive, or they’re evil.

“The attack was so successful it undermined its own objective” is the kind of MAGA propaganda that will be shown in history books.
Students three/four generations from now will be saying, “how could anybody have fallen for this?”

Prof. Robert Pape:
"I have studied every air campaign since WWI... I've modelled the bombing of Fordow and regime change in Iran for 20 years... We are now in the grip of the escalation trap... This has never worked in over 100 years... Trump is up against the weight of history".
