A short walk to our second, and final, bar of the day, Crafter Bar. Long seating area at the front and the small bar space opens out to a deceptively large seating area.
10 taps, half from the UK, 2 from the US and 3 Bulgarian, 1 of which I had in the previous bar!

And I have beer! High Five Taproom is a cozy little back street bar with a dozen taps of mostly Bulgarian beers along with several well stocked fridges.

Well, that was another long day! Despite leaving late we arrived at the border on time. Then lost an hour crossing Bulgaria!
Just arrived at hotel, but conveniently there is a bar from my list 2 minutes away, and another 4 minutes away. I will get beer tonight!

A good start to our 10 hours plus train journey to Sofia as we are still in the station 40 minutes after the scheduled departure time!
Fully occupied compartment of 6. And it's very hot!

Five minutes to our final Bucharest bar, Beer Station Lipscani. They have 16 taps but only 5 beers appear to be on. I need all 5 and they do a flight of 5 beers...
Plenty of choice in the fridges.

It's a stagger to next door for stop 4, Beer O'Clock. I'm sure that this was at the cutting edge a few years ago, but it's definitely fallen behind. A dozen taps only available as 400ml pours, plus some well stocked fridges.

More strolling eventually reaching stop 3, Tap Craft Beer, in the heart of old town. 20 beers on tap, mostly Romanian, and 5 fridges of beers from all over.

It's less than a minute to stop 2, NoRoom Taproom, named because it is a tiny room with all seating on the pavement outside. 10 taps offer a range of breweries.

After sightseeing and siesta it's beer O'Clock. A few hundred metres from our first planned destination I spotted a sign out of the corner of my eye, no bigger than A4 saying Ironic Taproom. Bonus!
26 taps of theirs plus guests, all priced in 100ml, you choose what size you want.

After a morning amble it's time for lunch in the historic Caru' cu Bere. They claim to brew their house beer, but I'm not convinced...
The building is stunning though and the food very good.

With Mrs MusingAnorak safely deposited at the hotel I've returned to Ground Zero where the draft beers are now pouring and I have a flight of 5.

The next street over haa a bar that a friend visited earlier this year, QP Pub. Not out of our way so popped in. Limited list but still picked up a new Romanian brewery.

Cozy. Slow. Not the most comfortable. But a good experience. We'll have the Sofia to Istanbul sleeper at the start of next week.

It's amazing what is available these days.

Stop 4 is a bucket list tick, Hop Hooligans Taproom. 24 taps, a mix of their own plus guests. The spicy burger from the street food van is fantastic.
I'm very happy!

Third bar today is Pardon Pub & More. Small corner bar with 16 interesting beers on tap.

Safely checked in to the hotel and time to explore. We've taken a leisurely stroll out to Zaganu Craft Beer Bar, tap for Zaganu Brewery with 9 of theirs on tap. Situated at the further end of what appears to be Bucharest's Regent Street.

That was a long train journey!

Now in Bucharest. Hotel room not ready yet but conveniently Ground Zero Taproom is five minutes away. Doing a full line clean at the moment so a couple of their bottles until the draft is ready.

Home for the next 16 hours...

Budapest Keleti to Bucharest North

Leisurely pace today as we're on a sleeper train tonight. A stroll along and across the Danube to the first bar of the day, KEG sörművház. 32 taps here offering beers from all over the world. I might be here a while...

A thirty minute route march to get to Gravity Brewing before it closed at 23:00. It was closed at 22:20. Thankfully MONYO Tap House was a five minute walk away. 12 of their beers on tap.

Ten minutes to stop 3, Parabolic Lazarus Brewpub. Hadn't picked up on this until it appeared on Untappd. Cellar bar with 6 of their beers on tap. Gone with the flight.

It's only a couple of minutes walk to stop 2, Madhouse by Mad Scientist, one of their tap rooms.
18 beers on tap, mostly their own, and handily available as 100ml pours.

Three! And I still needed a beer afterwards!

Made it to Budapest! After 8 hours on a packed train we need beer!

First stop is KOLBIZZ Sausage & Beer House. Not the best name but 10 taps mostly from Hoptop Brewery, with this seeming to be their taproom.

Thanks to this service being operated by OBB I get some bonus Austrian ticks!

We used a company called Tailor Made Rail and they did all of the booking.
