For the vast majority of people (except Ukrainians and Hongkongers) there is NO WAY to claim asylum in the UK without coming by small boat

The only way to stop people making dangerous boat crossings to the UK is by creating safe and managed routes

Govt's plan is delusional

I don't know the details of either case but I'll say my available sympathy for any landlord is severely limited.

The attackers apparently claimed he "attacked them first". I don't recall which law it was that gives you license to beat the shit out of someone just because "they started it"... What is this, playground rules? And the police dropped it!

Nigel Farage wants to take these human rights away from you.

Which of them don't you want?

Our adversarial, first-past-the-post political system means PMQs is utterly stupid and irrelevant as each parties simply tries to score points over the other. We deserve much better from our politicians. We deserve proportional representation. But neither Labour nor the Tories will ever deliver it.

Labour are just ONE point above The Greens.

Come on, do the right thing for the country. We've seen the damage the division that the Tories and Labour have brought. It's not what any of us want, regardless of whether we're left or right leaning.

Break the cycle and support The Greens.

The Green Party could be the new left wing in the UK, even by the next election. @zackpolanski.bsky.social has shown that being genuine, honest, and properly committed to real left wing policy WORKS.

Nigel Farage is wrong about the European Convention on Human Rights | Good Law Project The Reform leader is unveiling legislation to leave the ECHR. His arguments are wrong – and that move would be a disaster.

I think, unfortunately, that they have discovered just how much traction and attention doing what they do gets them. It's a terrible shame but promoting causes like the environment just doesn't... Perhaps it's a part of why they do it, the notoriety.

Their idea, it seemed, was to start out offering decent keys (including for Steam) and then slowly transition to giving out keys for their own platform(s) to lure people in. In practice I just lost interest as the keys became less useful to me.

Perhaps, but I'm from the UK which is tiny! One of my cousins lives about a 10 minute drive away, really do intend to invite her for dinner... Sometime...

Can't speak for anyone else but for me yes. I have never met most of my second cousins, and I see my first cousins maybe once a year. Some cultures are less family driven I suppose, including whatever the hell my family are.

There is something unique about playing music with headphones. I can jam without, but being completely surrounded by the sounds I'm making just feels better. I can lose myself for hours, and it always sounds better as a result.

AOC, in 2023, on trans athletes: "Trans people represent 1% of the population... we have spent so many resources and time figuring out how to more finely exclude them… I’ve started to realise that a lot of these proposals here involve invasion of privacy of all women."

β€˜Change course now’: humanity has missed 1.5C climate target, says UN head Exclusive: β€˜Devastating consequences’ now inevitable but emissions cuts still vital, says AntΓ³nio Guterres in sole interview before Cop30

Overshooting 1.5Β°C wasn't 'inevitable.'

We've been pushed by fossil fuel giants & governments that pander to them.

Every delay, every oil field, every broken promise made this crisis worse.

Keir Starmer, will you promise to leave Rosebank undeveloped?

We could solve world hunger by optimizing the food supply with regular computers, but we won't, will we? Quantum computers are fascinating and will certainly change things, but as long as they are owned by oligarchs systemic change is impossible.

It speaks volumes about the dire state of British politics that an MP can say that she gets mad about seeing Black and Asian people in adverts on TV and she hasn't immediately been expelled from her party - a party that hopes to form the next Govt.

On Saturday, a woman of Punjabi heritage was raped in a racist attack in Walsall.

Last month, a Sikh woman was raped in a racist attack in Oldbury.

These horrifying attacks show how racism and misogyny feed each other β€” fuelled by the rise of fascism and hate.

Your Party Scotland appearing, boasting about converting 3 green councilors, then promptly getting in a row and deleting their account again feels very on brand.

I do feel bad for them, I WANT to like YP... But "the members will decide at the conference" is a shit explanation for everything.

Oh, I didn't spot that the sword was inside the glass. Yes, you're right, although perhaps depending on the sword geometry you could wedge it between the front/back of the glass and force a crack with the guard.
