We need proper leaseholder rights. Hampstead & Highgate independent candidate in 2024 General Election
"What I think happened is that you allowed your enthusiasm for your clientsβ cases to get the better of your professional and personal judgment."
Given the relatively small amount gained, against the risk of personal & professional destruction if found out (as happened), I think this must be right.
"New net migration figures show that levels are now four times higher than pre-Brexit figures in 2019. In the year to June 2023, numbers rose to more than 900,000."

No, Nigel Farage.
We emphatically do not talk about this at home.
You will not import your authoritarian christofascist Trump-style threats into our political debate.
Canβt tell you quite how far youβll be told to fuck off if you try.
When a regulated financial institution owned by a global top tier Olympic partner wonβt answer a simple question on policy wording itβs a sign thereβs a broken system
@lewisgoodall.com what do you make of the below leasehold issue?

Overdue reform to feudal leasehold laws good example of why everything takes so long to get done: consultation paralysis. The new legislation may be needed-but holding another consultation *next* summer? Too much consultation (which protects vested interests) one of the big problems with our system.

The Budget hits farmers too hard and tax avoiders too lightly. It needs to change.
Meanwhile Assethold and Eagerestates (freeholder and linked managing agents) continue to demonstrate why leasehold reform is seriously needed. 2/3

Good BBC coverage on how dream of homeownership has turned into a leasehold nightmare for some buyers facing exorbitant service charges increases and careless management orgs.
One harrowing example of an owner almost driven to suicide from the stress and financial pressure of huge cost increases β¬οΈ
I don't think so

We need to talk about UK graduate wages, and the idea that Britain sends too many people to university.
American readers should stick around for the UK/US comparisons π

The link between poor mental health& #leasehold tenure is clear
Existing Leaseholders are living day to day in properties they cannot afford or sell due to ridiculous service charges&onerous ground rents. The strain must be intolerable βΉοΈ
