yooooooo tysm! the lanterns are actually a very recent addition. during play testing, I struggled to find good lighting for a base, and I realized I needed purple lights. it had to either end themed or something else. I decided on an amethyst lanterns, it just makes sense.

Legit, these are so fun to mess around with. It's so rewarding actually seeing features come together with so few bugs. The only thing left for steel drums is to allow for stacks of items to properly stack to 99 only inside the container. #mcdev #minecraft

Now it's my job to give it an additional purpose. it is able to flip stacked slabs and toggle blockstates of some blocks but other than that, there's nothing different. Pain.

the lack of ambience in this version is so unsatisfying. Siren blaring is technically ambience but it's not enough. The deep dark now has ambience, and some blocks give off sounds too. In the new clip, you might be able to hear a broken redstone heart pulsing. It really brings everything together.

Here's the original clip of the Redstone labs from 2024. Ignore the clicking in the blaring, I didn't know how to clean up audio at the time. Also I have no idea why breaking glass was a trigger for the siren. #mcdev #minecraft

Content is still missing from this clip, most importantly the function of the siren. When a siren is blaring, it will set of sculk sensors and shriekers in a 16 block radius and count as a player interaction. When I placed the boat, it set off the siren, and Redstone Interference destroyed the boat.

2026 recreation of the first redstone labs clip I took back in 2024. The original clip was all done as a concept with resource packs (I will post it tomorrow,) and not long after that, I realized that I'm waiting for nothing and just jumped right into actual mod development. #mcdev #minecraft

Steel drums now go boom if they contain 5 or more gunpowder. The explosion will scale with the amount of gunpowder inside (I haven't figured that out yet.) Also, the gimmick of steel drums is that each slot can hold 99 items instead of 64, but it only has 9 slots. #mcdev #minecraft

What's this? a mob? a FAMILIAR mob? Here is the Sculk Snapper, a revision of the scrapped Sculk Jaw block of the Wild Update. Instead of a block, the Sculk Snapper is an entity that hides in deep pits underneath Deepslate Rubble, and occasionally replaces Sculk blocks. #mcdev #minecraft

SOUNDS!! One of my favorite aspects of game development is sound design. I cannot describe the joy I get when I hear my own sounds in game and they DON'T sound terrible. Also, finally the functionality of the 1st block of FA, the redstone dust block, has been implemented LESSGOOOOO #mcdev #minecraft
