October is LGBTQ+ History Month, and I'm thinking about my friends in Kentucky's LGBTQ+ community who just want to live their lives without fear.
I've watched them organize their communities and refuse to be erased. Their courage keeps me in this fight.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month reminds us that early detection is critical. Don't put off that mammogram or checkup. Your health matters, and catching cancer early can make all the difference.

IRS to furlough nearly half its workforce as shutdown drags on
The move comes a week before a payment deadline for taxpayers who received extensions on their 2024 filings.
Half of IRS workers have been furloughed because Republicans can't do their job. Taxpayers are losing critical services right before the Oct. 15 filing deadline.
When I get to Congress, I won't put people's livelihoods and the basic functions of government at risk.

Letter carriers are often the first to notice when somethingβs wrong β a senior who hasnβt picked up the mail or a neighbor who depends on their delivery. They embody what public service looks like.
Iβll always stand with our postal workers. βοΈπ @lettercarriers.bsky.social

Veterans put their lives on the line for us. At the very least, we can ensure them the healthcare theyβve earned.
The VAβs proposal to strip away reproductive care is cruel, unnecessary, and disrespectful to women veterans and their families. I wonβt stand for it.

In Frankfort, I fought to protect prevailing wage, expand paid sick leave, and stand with organized labor every step of the way. I didnβt just talk about supporting workers. I voted for them. I stood with them. Iβll do the same in Washington.

Celebrating Womenβs Equality Day by thinking of my mom and all the women who refused to accept limits. Their courage opened doors for my generation. Now itβs our turn to keep pushing forward for the next generation of Kentucky women and girls.

Index cards up 42%. Binders up 12%. Even basic school supplies are getting out of reach for Kentucky families.
Our kids deserve every tool they need to succeed, and parents shouldn't go broke providing them.

As National Senior Citizens Day comes to a close, Iβm thinking about how our seniors shouldnβt have to choose between medication and groceries. They worked hard their whole lives and deserve to retire with security.
Iβll always stand against anyone trying to cut Social Security and Medicare.

On the 105th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, Iβm thinking about casting my first ballot in 1994. I was a student at Morehead State. Iβll never forget the feeling of filling out that absentee ballot, knowing I was part of something women had fought so hard to give me.

Former State Representative Kathy Hinkle's endorsement means so much to me. Kathy fought in Frankfort for working families because she knew parents shouldn't have to work multiple jobs just to survive.
Her leadership for working people is what public service should be about.

The Kentucky Republican-backed betrayal bill will make healthcare harder to access for our neighbors. 6 of the 35 hospitals at risk are in our district.
This Republican attack on our community is heartless, and I'm going to continue fighting every day to stop these cruel cuts to healthcare.
