Well, I WAS all excited about some cool Shadowdark stuff I just wrote but after coming back online after like an 18-hour break we’re apparently at war???

I’m so fucking tired of living in interesting times.

In a 24 hour period? Sure! No problem. Do the running first (sure hope a slow jog counts!), drink a couple beers, nap, eat & drink, nap, rinse, repeat.

This young fella ran out in front of me on my way to the post office today.

It felt like a suitably barbaric omen.

Who is paying for those 0 likes 0 posts “sponsored” ads? What are they getting out of it?

Why is the targeting SO off? If AI is so smart, why doesn’t it show me RPG KS ads instead of churches??

Just spent 20 mins on FB, and spent almost that entire time blocking ads from religious pages (often with 0 likes & 0 followers) & AI slop posts from groups I’m not in.

I still get a lot of positive use out of some of the private groups that I’m in, but, the rest of the site is basically unusable.

Wellp, I guess I can add “helped to measure a world record breakingly-tall balloon Godzilla costume for Guinness” to the list of interesting things I’ve done in my life.

I think I’ve posted about it here before, but a major expense in my “what would I do if I had infinite money” daydream would be some sort of connected film universe with a bunch of pulp heroes eventually teaming up. Tarzan, the Shadow, Doc Savage, the Avenger, etc.

I still think that a Tarzan movie *could* work today, but only if it leans HARD into the pulpy weirdness.

Give us a trilogy with Pal-Ul-Don, a secret passageway to Pellucidar, and a war between pirates and Mahars…

Give him Nazi villains to feed to dinosaurs.

Not that I do that many conventions, but I got a new sign to hang up in my booth.
