Anna's are basically year-round now in the Puget Trough given the combo of humans putting out feeders and relatively mild winters.

It still floors me how Washington goes from Zone 5 mountains to Zone 8B/9A in, like, 30 miles.

Wish I'd gotten recordings of mine singing way back when. Even more errily accurate than these males. They aren't mimics but I wonder if hearing it all the time influenced their song a bit.

And I use maps today on occasion. Frees me from worries about connectivity or having to pull over to refresh the phone and read off tiny screen. Same reasoning behind printing the boarding pass QR code and directions to the hotel & client offices. #oldfart

The current bath is outside my desk window where I can see it, whereas the location for the new one/small-pond isn't easily viewed. After some research, I'm leaning now towards having a camera recording from inside, through a window, and recording to my NAS via Ethernet. But that limits views.

BTW if you can get it to overwinter, next season it can hit 5-6' tall AND 5-6' wide with some steps rooting a few feet away. I love that the leaf colors make it a great landscape plant even without the flowers.

oooh love that Pineapple Sage. It would overwinter for me in protected-by-house spot with heavy mulch getting it through a couple of nights in the single-digits-F and a week of lows in the teens. My beef was it wouldn't bloom until the hummingbird migration was mostly over!

Well yeah, that goes without saying.

As a small business owner, I've been arranging things so I never have to go back to Texas, Georgia, or Florida again.
