Depressing read. I am lucky in my school so in my experience the biggest crisis is the utter bin fire in LA funding. I spent days fighting for funding for the new Yr 7s. As a SENDCO, whilst I agree with you @bennewmark.bsky.social , I also have to work hard to maintain relationships with families who are often very bruised by their interactions with education so far. So sometimes running with the coloured paper is the lesser of the weevils.

Hard agree. Already spotting AI stuff everywhere. Superficially fine, but actually when you look at just very random. Worksheets that are way over the reading age of the class; letters that for some reason just don't connect etc

I am reading The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt atm, which is interesting. In summary, he tracks increased MH concerns to wild West on line lives combined with over protection in real life.

Our local authority will now only give us £13 ph for TA staff required by EHCPs. Lots of local schools under staffed for statutory requirements and can't recruit a SENDCO.

I absolutely loved those books. And Mog and the Granny was one of our top 5 picture books. Your youngest has good taste

Just adding: take at least 30 mins at lunch and find someone funny to eat with. Avoid the staffroom if you are feeling frazzled, bound to get several "ooo, can we chat about..."
