A couple years ago I found out I only have slight oral food allergies to many tree nuts, minor enough to eat them, very cool. Today I found out chestnut is not one of them, and the tree nut panel during my last allergy test is likely to not have included it. Not cool at all.

Time Out's best sandwich in the world was only "pretty great" to me? However, extremely reasonable line wait and price for the hype, and the baguette for sure tasted of the renowned quality one would expect from this city.

Sunlight hits the baguette of this jambon-beurre sandwich, held in a single hand grip.

French Lay's: spicy, fromage de jura, paysanne nature, nature, oignon de rostoff, bbq, poulet rôti, a l'ancienne

Mille feuilles, giant raspberry macarons, saint honore, and fig tarts are some of the many beautiful baked goods in this patisseries display.

A little lime and yuzu cream pie. The cream is dotted with translucent light yellow green drops that glitter, and lime zest is sprinkled across the top.

We interrupt statues to bring you my Parisian food snaps: a famous jambon-beurre sandwich, French Lay's flavors, one of the many patisseries displays, and a tasty lime and yuzu cream pie.

More statues at the Louvre I particularly enjoyed and why: the way the light hit this group pose; the marvel of delicate lace rendered in stone; the facial features that come through a veil; incredible expression in the body language.

This rendering of Mercury abducting Psyche was new to me! The poses are beautiful, almost a dancing helix that was apparently in vogue at the time. There's a great sense of a moment captured; up close, you can practically see all the active muscles of Mercury's toes.

Now we're at the Louvre. Now we're at the part where I fixate on statuary for much of my time in Paris, as foreshadowed by my love for Nike of Samothrace.

I don't consider myself well-traveled and feel very self-conscious of being like "Has anyone ever mentioned that Paris is cool??" But I'm having fun recording what I remembered thinking of the city my first time through.

Looking down a street in the 10th district of Paris. The buildings have lots of decorative flourish reliefs, black iron balconies with curly ornaments.

The front of the Folies Bergere, apparently a former opera house turned cabaret music hall. Its name is in a very deco-style font and sits above a gold-toned relief of a figure dancing in front of an also very deco geometric background.

Graffiti of famed comic character Tin Tin embracing and kissing Captain Haddock spans nearly the height of a building. Other big blocky graffiti tags are visible at its base, along with Goku from Dragon Ball.

I am zooming to the PARIS bit of the trip. As soon as our train pulled in, I first noticed huge swaths of colorful graffiti on ornate decorative architecture. I took a lot of photos while wandering the streets when I felt suddenly aware of being in a very different environment.
