Peace and security for every family in the region must be our shared goal — and I’m resolved to make that peace a reality.

We mourn those killed and stand with all whose lives were shattered by Hamas’ horrific October 7th attack on Israel. We will never forget that day’s brutality. We pray for the hostages and demand their immediate release.

Trump calls Chicago violent—but his ICE raids and troops terrorize families. I toured the South Shore apartment building raided last week with my colleagues today. I won’t bow to bullies. Chicago deserves dignity, safety, and respect.

Yesterday was all about connection and energy—first with the Montgomery County Democrats, then with my Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. sorors in Metro East. Together, we’re building momentum for change.

Illinois will not be silent. Trump’s escalating attempts to intimidate and divide us—from Broadview to South Shore—are unacceptable. Whether it’s ICE raids, arresting Chicago officials, or the National Guard on our streets, we must resist and stand together.
