The balancing act Sisko plays on DS9 is so well written. And Pike is just a big teddy bear and reminds me of leaders I had that I really liked.

I've said this before but I will say this again -- what I find so fascinating about Vulcans is the fact the logic aspect to them is cultural/spiritual and not something that is innate. It is also interesting the vulcans we spend time with have something about them that makes them not Vulcan.

How a series that started off w/ sophomoric jokes and crude violence evolved into a beautiful story about found family, how to maintain your humanity in the face of an inhumane system, how power corrupts, and trauma is not ennobling

Also somewhat related -- bishonen Carl /is/ canon at least for part of book 7.
