Notice how it’s somehow the government’s job to legislate a few Bible verses on human sexuality over our entire country, but it’s suddenly “not the government’s job” when it comes to the +2,500 Bible verses calling for a generous use of wealth that prioritizes the poor.

One of the best changes I’ve made in regards to social media sites is to turn off all notifications—admittedly diminishing the social aspect—inspired by Micro.blog’s approach. It’s improved my relationship with those sites by removing unnecessary distractions and overall easing my engagement there.

If the work of theology can be a mode of discipleship (as I believe it is), then relationships “all the way down” is indispensable, because discipleship is about seeking communion and abiding in it.

The work of theology, despite at times being supremely isolating, is really all about relationships, all the way down.
