2/ What’s most worrisome? AB kids are now returning to the same overcrowded classrooms with complexity after three weeks of failed UCP negotiations.

As a parent, I want the best education outcome for every child in AB. Every parent I’ve spoken to and received emails from in Glenmore wants the same.

1/3 In the wee hours of the morning, the UCP government passed its legislation to force teachers back to work. They even used the notwithstanding clause, admitting their violation of charter rights and freedoms.

It is now confirmed, the Premier and her UCP government will force teachers back to work and use the notwithstanding clause for the first time in Alberta’s history.

This is a shameful first for our province, and it should alarm not only teachers, parents, and students, but all Albertans #ableg

3/ This week, I received an email from a Grade 7 student. Their words were wise beyond their years - thoughtful, compassionate, and sensible.

2/ I feel deeply for the parents scrambling to balance work and childcare, some saying it feels like Covid years again.

I ache for the families with two teachers - no classes, no income, and uncertainty. My heart is with students who want to be back, connecting with their friends and teachers.

1/ Week 3 of the teachers’ strike:

My office has been inundated with messages, calls, and walk-ins from parents, teachers, and many community members - voices filled with worry and frustration. Please know that my team and I read every message.

The UCP quietly released the 3rd party report into CorruptCare on Friday afternoon, hoping it would get buried in news around the ATA strike and municipal elections.

Here's a reminder: Judge Wyant was given very narrow scope. The scandal involves wider political interference beyond policies.
