We had a great time at the Calgary-Glenmore AGM last weekend. We elected new executive, we ran an election preparedness workshop, and we raised money for #yycglenmore

I can’t wait to door knock again with volunteers and work with the new execs.

Dream team ❀️

3/3 Write to these UCP MLAs and the premier. Tell them what you think. Put on the pressure. Albertans deserve much better than this.

And if you're looking for political volunteering in Calgary-Glenmore, DM me!

2/ What’s most worrisome? AB kids are now returning to the same overcrowded classrooms with complexity after three weeks of failed UCP negotiations.

As a parent, I want the best education outcome for every child in AB. Every parent I’ve spoken to and received emails from in Glenmore wants the same.

1/3 In the wee hours of the morning, the UCP government passed its legislation to force teachers back to work. They even used the notwithstanding clause, admitting their violation of charter rights and freedoms.

It is now confirmed, the Premier and her UCP government will force teachers back to work and use the notwithstanding clause for the first time in Alberta’s history.

This is a shameful first for our province, and it should alarm not only teachers, parents, and students, but all Albertans #ableg

It’s all not transparent. The government hasn’t posted the details so it’s unclear why.

Alberta to pay $95M settlement to another coal company over policy change | CBC News Details of another settlement between the Government of Alberta and a coal company have been released. This time, the province has agreed to pay $95 million to Evolve Power.

New coal settlement alert! This time, 95M. The only reason we know this because the company posted the amount & not govt.

This taxpayer money should be funding education & healthcare but instead, Albertans continue to pay for the UCP flip flopping on coal policy #ableg

Albertans know what's at stake.

Danielle Smith is attacking teachers, parents, students, and workers. We won't stand for it.

Fuel for Thought What does Alberta's energy future look like?

1/ For too long, conversations about our economy have focused on what we might lose, and not on what we can build.

Alberta has always been a province of innovators and problem-solvers.

2/ I feel deeply for the parents scrambling to balance work and childcare, some saying it feels like Covid years again.

I ache for the families with two teachers - no classes, no income, and uncertainty. My heart is with students who want to be back, connecting with their friends and teachers.

The UCP quietly released the 3rd party report into CorruptCare on Friday afternoon, hoping it would get buried in news around the ATA strike and municipal elections.

Here's a reminder: Judge Wyant was given very narrow scope. The scandal involves wider political interference beyond policies.

NDP House Leader Christina Gray ripped into the flaws of the Eyant report as well today…

She highlighted the shortcomings of the report, how that was by design to allow Smith and her cabinet to avoid accountability & that the judge felt he wasn’t able to get full answers.

In light of the teacher strike, take time to consider your trustee vote carefully.

5/5 My thoughts are with the teachers who deserve respect, fair pay, and good working conditions.

The UCP gov must return to the table in good faith and properly fund our public schools. Alberta’s future depends on the success of our children β€” we cannot afford to let them down #ableg #yycglenmore
