This very straight news piece buried deep within the FT never uses words like corruption or insider dealing but every detail is quietly devastating. Why is the FT virtually alone in the UK media in covering this important story?

Exclusive: U.S. dismissed Ukraine deal for anti-Iran drone tech last year
Snubbing Ukraine's offer ranks as one of the U.S.'s biggest tactical miscalculations before the war, officials say.
EXCLUSIVE: 7 months ago, Ukraine tried to sell the U.S. their battle-proven technology for downing Iranian-made drones.
The Trump administration dismissed the Ukrainians, only to reverse course last week after more-than-expected Iranian drone strikes.

Nigel Farage's Trump trip boast backfires as he gives defensive answer
Nigel Farage has been quizzed on his apparent failure to secure an audience with Donald Trump - despite travelling to the US President's Mar-a-Lago residence.

Which parties agree most with the legislation the Labour government is passing?
Answer: SDLP and Greens...with Tories and Reform at the other end of the scale.
I picked out all major votes on Bills (2nd / 3rd readings), orders, regulations and other key measures.

Even in Buxton diesel is nearly 20p cheaper at supermarkets than this station. This is another publicity stunt by Reform, no doubt be a sympathetic independent station owner and the fuel is not being subsidised.
More smoke and mirrors.

I'm starting to find the number of senior people associated with Brexit who have 'prior commitments' preventing them from speaking at an event slightly suspicious

I disagree. He is going to celebrate the 250th anniversary of independence, with the American people. I'm sure he can make a barnstorming diplomatic speech, reminding the Americans what they fought for

Lyse Doucet explains the nature of 'double tap' attacks, notes we saw these attacks in Gaza and observes "we've seen that again in this conflict"
I wonder why that is. Doucet doesn't say.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Shudder to think what would have happened if we had joined Trump in Iran. The footage you just played about the girls school chills me to the bone. He's looking for someone else to blame. The UK has access to Tomahawks and I've no doubt he would be pointing the finger our way

It looks as if some combination of the markets, MAGA and munitions shortages in the Gulf will bring Trump to declare victory in the coming days. There will be no regime change or unconditional surrender. It will leave a deeply damaged but not a different Iran. An Iran who will want revenge one day.

Me too, just seems to have lost his way. There should be room for a variety of views but if he is so unhappy I no longer see the point in him being there. He seems incapable of offering anything constructive. I'd be furious if I was one of his constituents and had campaigned and voted for him

I genuinely don't understand why he remains a Labour MP. Surely he would be happier in the Greens. The more he snipes at Starmer the more bitter and disingenuous he looks, if he feels so strongly he really needs to make a stand and move on

Labour MPs just voted to expand free school meals to half a million more children, lifting 100,000 children out of poverty.
The Tories and Reform UK voted against.
Only Labour will give children growing up in our country the best start in life.

Bizarre. I've been watching events in the Middle East and, as well as everything else, have been horrified at the environmental catastrophe. I would have expected the Greens to be shouting from the rooftops about this but all I hear is Polanski bitching and sneering at Starmer. Not a serious person

Good to see Farage robustly challenged. Telling to see the feebleness of his responses.

"And we mustn't let that happen."

An interesting insight into Keir Starmer by Michel Barnier, Chief Brexit negotiator for the EU. Written in his book, several years ago. It looks like the UK has got the right man as Prime Minister. Bravo!. 👍👏

Must be exhausting for these people to be permanently outraged. Often commentators who consider themselves capable of nuance and subtlety but think the government should immediately embrace their very clever ideas. Often seen on blue-sky congratulating each other on how brilliant they all are

The Tories oversaw the degradation of UK gas storage capacity - 2010 to 2017.
Thatcher privatised the gas and oil industry - 1982 to 1986.
Thatcher closed the collieries - 1986 to 1991.
This woman is an idiot - 1960 to 2026
