As an educator, who still writes hand written notes to synthesise and process what I’m hearing, I despair at the folly of giving young and developing brains tools that will stifle their development of critical thinking and how to really use language. And deny them the joy of creating.

Maybe it’s not us it’s tech. Tech brought to us by billionaires who want to control the world through tech. This is not us choosing the society we want to live in- this is tech billionaires deciding it for us- while they piss off to Mars.

Today I tried to explain what was wrong with Australian conservative policy locking in people’s right to affordable housing as an investment for all. The LNP through negative gearing have disenfranchised generations from owning their own home. And still vote LNP. I don’t get it.

And I’m sorry for being angry at the LNP guy handing out how to vote LNP flyers and lecturing people on the issues- but not sorry about my arguments

I love that we are made to vote- even if you think you may have no choice you do and it’s important to make an informed vote. Even if it comes down to the lesser of two evils, having the right to vote is a precious thing

So today we had record rain. But there was a moment where a glorious rainbow peeked its way out of the clouds. This world is magical. Let’s stop the billionaires from destroying it.

Imagine all the people…. Giving a damn, caring for others, standing up for a just society. It’s not rocket science and costs nothing.

So-called free speech on social media blinds us to facts. The fact we are on a dying planet and could turn it around if we could unite, but instead get excited about some unreachable habitable planet.

The polarisation of society has never been more extreme- families, communities and societies are being pulled apart. Reasoned debate is impossible when misinformation backed by pseudo data is king.

Trump’s tariffs are nuts and hurting people around the globe. I have to postpone retirement plans. We are now in unchartered territory. The end of capitalism.

Can’t do it anymore. Trump has dashed my hopes and dreams. It sucks. Oh well.

Watching the chaos, carnage, and being completely powerless…I didn’t have the right to vote in what is a personal tragedy and international disgrace. I wanted to retire soon. I won’t be able to now. All because a slim majority in another country elected a worthless vindictive excuse.

I’ll be there in spirit- bit far to come from Australia. What really bugs me - my retirement savings have tanked- and I didn’t even get to vote.

Just wondering if Bluesky would develop a “groups” function- it’s the only reason I’m still on Facebook….

What if we simultaneously invested in homegrown skills and importing migrant skills and did away with the idea of growth altogether? Lived sustainably? Actually called on business to pay for developing the talent they use not just importing it?

Yes indeed- leaders are usually promoted based on technical knowledge and not leadership potential, skills or aptitude. A great deal of effort in leadership development is working on skills for people not suited, and often not willing to lead.
