what's wrong with this slide that was actually used in my transportation planning college course
03.02.2026 00:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Just outside the Canadian side of the crossing. Yes, that is a divided highway. Yes, I had to walk down that.
First big road sign in Canada. You can either walk along an old derelict road or on the hard shoulder.
The bus stop is on the direct opposite side of the interchange, meaning I needed to walk along the onramp, along a narrow sidewalk at the top of the bridge, and then finally make it to the stop.
decided to day trip to Vancouver on a whim. now I remember why I incessantly complain about TransLink not running to the border.
16.01.2026 15:47 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0looks like that rabbit doesnβt just have a taste for my Ethernet cables. now i know why my bike wasnβt charging.
08.01.2026 22:20 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0my expectations for the transportation planning class Iβm taking are already on the floor since itβs taught by the βbadβ prof of the department, but calling interurbans βlight railβ is a cardinal sin that should definitely be above a college professor.
08.01.2026 01:29 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0thereβs still time to fix it - as of now, only two units (110 and a unit in the 13x series) have the refurb; maybe when they figure out that yes - this refurb works, theyβll redo sign codes

Close up of the arrow decal, which reads βAirportβ.
whenever I see signage like this at Westlake, I begin to think that itβs a bit overkill. Then, I remember that the general American public has the collective smarts of a lobotomized sloth and realize that this may not be enough for some people.
15.12.2025 00:46 β π 9 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0that was a very quick all-clear, and even despite the very quick duration Iβve still got a takeaway; the southbound shuttles should board at bay 3 (where the first hill peak routes serve) instead of where they currently board, at bay 4. this is so they dont block regular fixed routes while shuttling
15.12.2025 00:31 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0People waiting to board a Link shuttle.

I love how itβs been over a year and nobodyβs done anything about the misaligned connection between the Interurban Trail and Lynnwood City Center
14.12.2025 23:34 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0maybe itβs because Iβm a sucker for acronyms, but Iβm thinking βSingle-Point Access Residenceβ (SPAR)?
14.12.2025 23:01 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0it shoud be illegal for paratransit users to pay more for transit than fixed-route users. this post totally wasn't inspired by recent events.

05.12.2025 20:01 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0oh come on.
04.12.2025 19:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 1hey chat, if thereβs so much opposition to fare increases that public comment was cut off for time despite the fact that one and a half meeting rooms full of people (out of three total) and the entire zoom call still being in line for public comment, should you still go forward?
04.12.2025 18:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Spread this around. Make sure people know that this is going to happen and put pressure on WTA from across the transportation community to come to the negotiating table and allow the universities to have bus passes and to scrap the fare change. For more information, please visit savewta.org (3/3)
24.11.2025 19:49 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Instead, the people who would have gotten free rides will instead need to pay like anyone else. Of course, at the same time, the fares are increasing from $1 to $2. Needless to say, that will tank ridership to an unholy degree. Although we are united locally against this, I still need help. (2/3)
24.11.2025 19:49 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I didn't know it was possible for an agency to shoot itself in the foot like this, but it happened. My local agency, The WTA, has told the local universities, which make up half of its ridership, that it does not intend to continue giving free rides to their students, faculty, and staff. (1/3)
24.11.2025 19:49 β π 6 π 2 π¬ 2 π 0if I didn't have work that day (and if I wasn't holding back on starting something similar until some segments open) id attend. lets see a record broken!

18.11.2025 23:38 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sign R7-107: White and red background. βNO PARKING BUS STOP [arrow]β (MUTCD, Page 124)
Signs R7-107a and R7-107b: Red and white border sign with a bus pictogram at the top, and a βNo Parkingβ pictogram at the bottom, above an arrow. R7-107b includes a space for the transit agency to put their logo above the rest of the sign, with the text βTHIS AREA TO BE USED FOR TRANSIT PICTOGRAPHβ in the space. (MUTCD, Page 124)
honestly the fact that the only bus stop signage in the MUTCD (or: βhow to lay out a roadβ) puts more focus on saying βNo Parkingβ as opposed to giving transit riders useful info says quite a lot about our priorities as a country
15.11.2025 01:06 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Segment of a Twitter flamewar between a Republican troll and myself. In this segment, he tries to use an article that seemingly proves his point of cronyism and political machinery, but I retort by quoting a segment of the paper, which is repeated and rephrased multiple times, that disproves the point he was trying to make. To add salt on the wound, I cite it.
it is vitally important to actually know what's in an article you post before using it as a gotcha. (is dropping citations too much for a twitter argument?)
