One of my biggest personal career advancements happened because after years of working on Gay Adult Visual Novel Games (I still do, btw), a director for them recommended me to an audio production team working on a AAA title with high regard.
They tried me out, LOVED me, and kept hiring me for more.
I hope they receive all the same care the average American citizen would get in that same situation.
