The Prodigy has always been and always will be one of the fucking best bands to have ever existed. Have been luckily enough to see them live a few times including at MK Bowl and they're easily the best thing I've ever seen live. The people at #Glastonbury are gonna remember this forever.

Home - Ravepool
RavePool - the electronic music DJ Pool supporting independent artists.
Thanks @colettewgoaa.bsky.social - I'm the founder of RavePool.net - a new platform that aims to support independent dance music artists while providing DJs a way to get (and keep) new music for sets or to listen to. It uses a new royalties structure and I'm passionate about this to say the least 😅

Hi Paul, we'd absolutely love for your weird abstract and deliberately random sounds! ❤️ Thanks also @colettewgoaa.bsky.social, if you have any questions I'd love to hear and help. RavePool comes from over 20 years in dance music as a DJ and producer, trying to improve things for us all x

Apologies, I had to update this message due to UK/USA conversion rates (which actually made it worse than I thought!)

(2/3):
* In 2023, spotify's revenue was $14.06bn, and they paid out $9bn. Which means they paid out 64% of their revenue
* In 2024, spotify's revenue was $16.83bn, and they paid out $10bn, which is 59.42% of their revenue.
i.e: Spotify reduced their payouts almost 5% in the last year...

(3/3):
I know I bang on about how much I dislike their practices but hey I'm a stats geek, I can't help pulling apart figures.
P.S - Please go check out RavePool.net where we have a growing community of artists and DJs who actually support growing a music scene fairly 😎❤️🥰

Spotify pays $10bn to music industry as debate over royalties continues
The figures come as debate continues about how much money artists and songwriters receive in royalties.
www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Headline: "Spotify paid out a record £7.7bn in royalties in 2024"
Very well and good it seems. But I can't help raising a quizzical eyebrow.
So, after a quick google I found the following... (1/3)

I feel like this first post on Bluesky should be a profound quote from a sci-fi classic, maybe a quip from a famous philosopher or intellectual.
I put gingerbread syrup on my breakfast this morning, and it was nice.
So, let yourself be the sweet gloop added to your friends lives.
Or something.
