We also only averaged five voters per hour, worked 15 hours, and made less than $12/hour (and no free pizza!)

I'd love to see Pennsylvania find ways to encourage more election participation. I dunno the answer, but maybe it's time to revisit open primaries, adjusted hours, and expanded education.

While working the election polls, we also had to spoil a ballot from a Registered Republican who signed in, received his ballot, then got pissed when he realized he couldn't vote "straight Republican" and left in distress, despite us explaining that everyone on his ballot was Republican.

While working the election polls yesterday, I had to turn away a handful of voters who were not registered Democrats or Republicans. They didn't realize they couldn't vote in the primaries. (There were no ballot questions in the borough where I was stationed.)

Averaging 5 voters per hour. Local elections matter, people! Don't sit this one out!

White House pauses all federal grants, sparking confusion The Trump administration has put a hold on all federal financial grants and loans, affecting tens of billions of dollars in payments.

I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service.

“Pausing” grants means people don’t eat.

So seriously, what is our equivalent of storming the capitol?
