We were in the minority with our stance on Trump (well apart from Israel, Hungary, Saudi Arabia and Belarus). Were the rest of Europe and Canada in the wrong with their approaches and we were right? What did we do - send Peter Mandelson to keep Trump sweet.

The initial attack was in 2023. The comments you have posted are last year. There were months and months where Labour refused to condemn Israels retaliation as illegal. We had front benchers refusing to say bombing hospitals was illegal. It was disgusting and indefensible.

Of course its difficult juggling priorities but dont think I can ever be persuaded that trying to keep Trump sweet was ever going to be anything other than a disaster. As for refusing to condemn Israel while they bombed schools, hospitals and homes was unforgivable.

Starmer has done some really good things since coming in. Unfortunately he has also made some horrendous choices. Failing to criticise Israel in the early days when Gaza residents were being
bombarded and toadying up to Trump has really soured people against him. They were poor unnecessary choices

As it stands we have achieved nothing better than our European neighbours economically from it and have managed to come in for blistering attacks from the orange twat re Iran. If wanted to build bridges should of focused on our nearest trading partners not some rabid brainless oaf.

The Tories blatant opportunism is as ridiculous as Starmers previous refusal to criticise Israel over Palestine and his courting of Trump. Surely he should have realised his toadying sycophancy would backfire with someone as ignorant and thin skinned as Trump?
