We are working on a toolkit and guide for how to handle drought conditions regeneratively. Deserts have been converted with some of these approaches. The west is also facing severe drought because of a low snow pack, many of us are.

The good news is that there is a lot that can be done about it.

Got to tour his museum at Tuskegee University a few years ago. What an amazing inventor, philosopher and scientist! He was practicing systems thinking in innovative ways back then. A deeply intriguing man whose work should be more widely known.

Anybody working with insurance companies to get better building codes, etc, for resilience/adaptation to climate change?

My experience here has been 100% positive and productive. Followers and engagement have increased much faster than on Twitter/X. Quality of my feed has been great too. I've had to play with curation but it wasn't hard.

This cute little guy is a Rotund-Resin Bee, a solitary native bee. This one is on our chaste tree; I've also seen them on our catnip (beloved by many native pollinators).
I love seeing them fly around, flashing their colors and their pollen - stored on their belly. Magical little fairy dust bees.

A solution to this growing concern.

#Planttrees always, but also make every tree count. Biodiverse tree islands, native pioneer species, succession management (supporting ecosystems as they mature) and other nature based techniques increase benefits and survival rates!

Stacking functions is a key principle of permaculture. When we design systems to produce more than one function, especially when working with nature to do so, this can multiply the yield of the system beyond expectation.

This is common sense but also proven by number crunching.

Mangroves have massive benefits to humans by reducing storm surge, supporting sealife and capturing carbon. Nice poster summing up benefits.

Any street in any city I'm aware of that has done this is very busy with shoppers. It's wild that people don't know this.

So true! I would make vineger and oil salad with it and people would be literally eating it out of the bowl as I stirred. It never made it to the table. LOL.
