This was one of the plot lines for an episode of The Practice during their final season that I remember. Screwed up by missing a filing deadline, had a lawyer pretend to be from the defendant come pay out a settlement. I enjoyed James Spader’s acting.

They did the same thing with Attack on Titan. They had the last season labeled “The Final Season” only it didn’t finish the story. They had to separate it into two parts. And they still didn’t finish it. They released a movie to finish off the rest of the story.
