It's so rare that you ever get a game where something happens mid-game that drastically shakes up the way you play it, because everyone's so afraid to have an actual gameplay narrative, or afraid that if the player doesn't "beat the game" (another charged term) they've failed as a developer.

Not even joking here, the term "gameplay loop" has done immense damage to creativity in video games, both AAA and indie.

Something I find somewhat frustrating in the general online discourse surrounding chronic pain; There’s often this notion that we should just carry our pain bravely and never complain and always be positive. The term “victim mentality” gets brought up a lot. And I’m just like. No. I want to be allowed to be frustrated that I’m in pain, and with the doctors who dismissed me for years. I want to be allowed to express negative emotions. I want to be comforted sometimes. I want to be allowed to feel how I feel about what is happening in my body. I refuse to be told I have incorrect feelings.
