I've never watched the Cosbys or seen the first Predator movie.

On an acoustic? Months.

Electric? About an hour on a gig.

Maybe someday I'll be good enough to do this all the time.

I've watched this series 5-6 times, and each time it's been a different experience for me. I'm still surprised at how popular it is, considering how dark the subject matter is.

Unravelling all of the vocal parts on the outro took me ages. The video had some clues to what I was missing.

When I saw Hole open for Metallica, Melissa was constantly rolling her eyes during Courtney's between song screeds. I didn't think it was possible for me to like her more.

I find Out of Time a frustratingly uneven record, but it has some of their greatest songs on it.

I remember California is the most metal song in their catalog.

They came on once on a call while I was on hold for something and the 'middle rap interlude in a country song' made me have to find out the name of the band just so that I could do my best to insure I never heard them again.

Saw Garbage last night, and they were great. Maybe a little too reliant on the backing tracks, but Shirley knows how to work a crowd.

I buy CDs, only to rip them into Itunes and listen to them there (or on the Ipod). I basically 'play' them once, so they are played least often.

I think everyone should own a Merzbow record, just for occasions when somebody asks 'Why do you listen to [insert band name here]" and you can then point to your Merzbow record and say 'because it doesn't sound like that'.

It's not a great Slayer record, but I really enjoy the level of piss and vinegar within it (even if the lyrics are fairly juvenile -- but so is the cartoonish satanism of Hell Awaits etc.) so I don't hate it.

It does, but not with the same level of gravitas.

Also, having worked at a record store in the past it was funny when people couldn't find 'Zeppelin' under 'Zed', or looked for 'Van Halen' under 'H'.

Because authors are sorted by last name in libraries.

And what happens if the band is someone's last name -- do you sort by their first name? 'Bon Jovi is under 'J''.

What is wrong with you? Do you then sort alphabetically by title instead of release year?

(Japan sorts by first name, BTW. If you're looking for some defense in your method. But then they sort by the order of their alphabet).
