My kids and I do the NYT puzzles at bedtime together (WE TRY) and tonight my frustrated daughter roasted her twin brother by saying, “I wish I ate you in the womb” and my god only a multiple can roast their sib so hard! Oh we laughted for 10 straight minutes!

My sixth graders are performing in the school musical this weekend. It opens tomorrow. My heart is going to full on explode.

I volunteered to help direct traffic outside the grade school and my two main concerns are the men and the men.

Nobody prepared me for the full social lives of middle schoolers. Every day these kids meet at the park or someone’s house to hang out. It’s more than I ever did as a kid. And they don’t have phones! It’s all sports & homework & singing & all the things. I had no idea! I’m a big fan of Gen Alpha.

I was JUST explaining to my kids the other day how we have the right to peaceful protest. It’s one of our rights as Americans.

Melody Beattie changed my life forever. Co-Dependent No More was a game changer for me early in my recovery. I’m forever thankful to her and her gentle wisdom. She died end of February. Rest in peace.

We just saw the new Captain America movie and all I could think was I’d rather the Red Hulk be President than what we have.

Just want to post in solidarity with all the parents clawing their way through homework chaos. It doesn’t happen often here but when it does, I remind myself to not take whatever gets screamed personally. 💪

I regret taking my husbands last name as my legal name. I’ve done it twice as I’ve been married twice. My daughter knows to never ever take anybody else’s name and if my son marries a woman, I’ll strongly suggest the same for her.

I have at least one child sick at home & he says to me, “do you have any more dogs today?” I said,” no I’m done” he said, “good. I feel better when you’re here with me.” He’s snuggled in the basement & I hear the sweet comforting sounds of Star Wars on the tv. Safe. Cozy. What a privilege.

My kids and I just keep watching the #HighSchoolMusical movies. And singing. And dancing. Because nobody can take our joy.

The WORST part of interacting with MAGA is just how dim and unfunny they are. No nuance or sarcasm or cleverness at all. Nada. And the spelling. These stereotypes exist for a reason. And they’re all SO ANGRY. I thought we were great now why you so mad?

Honest to god kids are just ALWAYS sick. And the parents who continue to send kids to school sick repeatedly brag about their kids never missing school. I see you.
