"If women in yoga pants are confronting ICE you've lost"

"Even wine moms are going to the rally!"

"This is real protesting, not like those women with pussyhats!"

Hey, real quick, why is it that some of y'all can't tweet about women organising without dripping contempt?

The Israeli settler-colonial project has clearly failed. Time to end it, and give Palestine its home back.

Anyone who's followed along knew any promise of a ceasefire was bullshit. Israel won't stop until they've completely eradicated Palestine. Israel should not exist.

I wasnโ€™t aware of Susan B. Any recommended reading before I go down the Google rabbit hole?

I live in MA. Not a red state. Iโ€™m talking about my IRL friends and neighbors who still believe systems will prevail or that he weโ€™ll just willingly leave office after the next election, if there even is one.

19.10.2025 13:43 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Yep, this is exactly what I was thinking of. A lot of it just gets shipped overseas and burned or buried.

You're high off the No Kings demonstration but don't know what to do next? Decolonize your mind. Practice active anti-racism. Talk to your friends about how you can commit concrete acts that dismantle white supremacy. Think about how you interact with Black people. Unpack your internal biases.

19.10.2025 11:48 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 500    ๐Ÿ” 127    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 3    ๐Ÿ“Œ 3

I donโ€™t think most Americans are, to be honest.

I think a lot of folks in Gen Z and lower get it. But nearly every millennial and older that I talk to seems to either have their head buried in the sand, or is operating under some belief that the systems will eventually prevail.

19.10.2025 13:17 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

You can just be honest with them. Kids are a lot more aware and intellectually nuanced than most adults give them credit for.

I still remember how mad all the deplorable people got when Hillary Clinton accurately called them deplorable

Even that number feels high, to be honest.

19.10.2025 13:11 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

No, I mean anarchist. Every event was run by its own local organizers in their own way. That Seattle's event chose to pull permits was a local decision (exactly how anarchy should work). Boston's did, too, but some smaller towns did not.

19.10.2025 04:03 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

There is no one organizer. Each event is independent organized (albeit with some coordination from the OG parent group).

These things are dispersed and anarchist. And probably on-ramps for folks new to political action.

19.10.2025 03:15 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

But you can understand then why these events might skew white, and why itโ€™s good that folks with more privilege are actually involved?

19.10.2025 03:11 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Itโ€™s not an either/or thing. You need many types of action.

Itโ€™s also good white folks are actually engaged in numbers.

Too often BIPOC do all the work.

Is it enough? Nope! But it IS one of many things.

19.10.2025 03:06 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 4    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

So many stolen childhoods (at least, for those who have taken any of this as seriously as it deserves).

Yep! And it is wild how much money companies will spend on some things, but how unwilling they already pay for a commercial software license.

I feel like a disabled autistic 15 year old child going missing and ending up with ICE/HHS should be far bigger news.

Especially considering heโ€™s been located yet NOT returned to his mother.

This is kidnapping.

Yet the combination of racism & ableism means it gets ignored.

Arenโ€™t we, by using them in our research, encouraging the further development of something harmful?

It is Luddite, in the true meaning of the term.

The luddites were a distributed, organized revolutionary movement targeting the use of automation by capitalists to exploit and displace skilled workers.

They werenโ€™t just grumpy about technology

@cory.laviska.com I had a very similar experience with Kelp UI that you did with Quiet UI.

I'm not ready to go MIT yet, because I love having a "no fascists" clause in my license, but I'll be very curious to see how your Insider tier does relative to your old model.

17.10.2025 15:50 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 3    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Not surprised! I've seen similar results with Kelp. Lots of positive feedback. No takers on the commercial license.

I don't plan to move away, yet, though. OSS is so fucking broken.

This is the most personal project Iโ€™ve made in years.

I launched a new show called The Callback. Itโ€™s weekly web dev news with my dumb humor sprinkled on top.

If this pilot does well I get to make more, so watching, liking, and sharing would be DEEPLY appreciated ๐Ÿ’œ

Implicit labels aren't In HTML, you can associate a <label> with its field using the [for] attribute, with the ID of the corresponding field as its value. <label for="season">What's your favorite season?</label> <input type="text" id="season"> This associates the field with the <label> for assistive technology, and also lets you click the label to focus on the field. Try it yourself below. Whatโ€™s your favorite season? If a <label> is wrapped around a field, itโ€™s supposed to be associated with that field implicitly, without the need for a [for] attribute.
