16.12.2025 09:33 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Just had to say goodbye to my good boy this morning. My heart is broken. He was the best cuddle buddy. #dogs #goodbye #pets #fuckcancer
08.12.2025 13:55 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0I'm struggling with a lot of work stress that is sucking my will to create art. What do you to get past that? I could really use some pro-tips.
17.10.2025 18:35 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Interesting, Iโll try that. I generally throw all my water and everything back in reclaim, so in theory everything goes back in, but Iโll definitely try that. There was a non reclaim plate that warped too, just not as bad. A heavily grogged stoneware.
22.09.2025 07:46 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Possibly, I had stacked them vertically once before but on that one I had a larger pot in the middle and rested them all against that. I had also considered that my use of reclaim might have been a problem, but one of them wasn't reclaim. It was the least warped.
18.09.2025 16:10 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Good to know, that's what I always thought the problem was with plates, expansion issues causing them to crack. Thank you!
18.09.2025 15:55 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Oooooh, Silica Sand. This is something I have heard about but not really looked into too much. I'm going to have to look into that.
18.09.2025 15:54 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I really don't do many plates... or at least I haven't up until now. I never fired flat because of all the complaints I had seen from other potters about warping or cracking. Here I was thinking I was going to learn from their mistakes. -Womp Womp- I will check CAN, thank you! :)
18.09.2025 15:43 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0On the edge. This was the load.
18.09.2025 04:06 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I don't have that glaze yet. I'm going to see if the local place has it.
The thing about the plates is they all went into the kiln looking good. I dried them REALLY carefully and, I thought, really evenly.
There ainโt enough sage, incense, or sacrificial chickens in the world for this bullshit. Pic for the pic gods.
So, howโs this? Bisc fired and waiting for glaze. Any color suggestions? Also, what do you do to keep plates from warping in the kiln. ALL mine warped. #pottery #art #ceramic #clay
How do you all stack your plates in the kiln? Does this look ok? #pottery
27.08.2025 18:07 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0You know whatโs annoying? Nicking the sides of your pots every few minutes when youโre trying to burnish. Pic for pic tax #pottery #claws #weekendatburnish #pixforthepixgods

As Bob Ross would say, there are no mistakes, only happy accidents.
In the case of art, that's definitely mostly true... In the case of Nuclear Science, I would beg to differ :)
Outstanding!

29.05.2025 06:45 โ ๐ 27 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Someone posted this and I had to share. The history nerd in me loves this. #history #lowqualitycopper #complaint #EaNasir
17.05.2025 23:44 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0How many pounds of clay goes into a bowl like that? I have a bit more trouble with larger pieces... Either I have trouble centering larger amounts of clay, or I make the walls too thin and they keep collapsing.
22.04.2025 17:02 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Frustrating
21.04.2025 15:53 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0You know how when you are mixing glazes, some of them have the same materials? If you're anything like me, you might be tempted to mix several glazes at the same time. I pre-labeled my bottles then poured the wrong glazes into them. This was supposed to be different. #clay #ceramics #art #pottery
18.04.2025 22:14 โ ๐ 14 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Thank you! :)
18.04.2025 14:07 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0How do we feel about this glaze? Itโs what I would call temperamental, so Iโm not sure if Iโm going to keep using it unless people really dig it. #pottery #ceramics #clay #art
17.04.2025 04:04 โ ๐ 13 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Exactly! :)
15.04.2025 04:28 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Obsidian base, and drops of sapphire float, smokey merlot, and mayco light flux on the inside... if I recall correctly.
14.04.2025 20:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Aerosmith has it's problems, but they did share one bit of wisdom. "Their attitudes may taste like shit but go real good with wine."
14.04.2025 18:51 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thanks, it's a combination of Amaco River Birch and Industrial Minerals glazes on the outside. I did two just in case, both slightly different. The other uses Seaweed, but it came out more greenish-brown than I liked. This one is -chef's kiss- perfect!
14.04.2025 18:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Agreed, ancient copper is in my regular rotation. I think Iโm adding gold as well :)
14.04.2025 17:46 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Me too! Copper is my favorite metal. Iโm so glad Amaco brought Ancient Copper back!
