Per Penn Jilette, Trump is one of those. He says he had never heard Trump tell an actual joke. Trump merely insults people, and not in funny or clever ways. Again, not a matter of being offensive or not.

This baffled him. These respondants somply didn’t graps the *concept* of a joke. “That’s not funny!” or “That’s offensive!” require understanding the idea pf humor. But some people pack it.

Thinking of Dave Barry on the problem. He made a joke about aides using a remote electric shock to tell Nixon when to laugh. His responses came in 3 types.

Both of those understood it was a joke.
